History of events

During its existence, Consulting and Training Center KEY has been involved in various international events concerning food quality and safety, collaborating with many international and domestic organizations (EHEDG, GHI, EFFoST, EuCheMS, IFA, FVA, APERM etc.) to fulfill that goal. Taking a look after our 10 year existence, KEY has successfully organized 12 major conferences and congresses, as well as establishing an annual Food Quality & Safety, Health and Nutrition Congress – NUTRICON, held in Macedonia.

2019

NUTRICON 2019

NUTRICON 2018 was an international congress held in Ohrid, Macedonia, from the 12th-14th of June, 2019.

The congress also incorporated HACCP and Advanced Hygienic Engineering and Design training, from the 10th-12th of June, 2019.

More than 200 participants were present at this edition of NUTRICON, from 32 countries worldwide, with 34 presentations and 54 posters presented, as well as 80 full papers published.

Various company exhibitors were also present at the congress, presenting their products and services, obtaining visibility and interacting with the participants.

As always, a social program was organized for all the participants to enjoy, detailing Macedonian culture and tradition.

2018

NUTRICON 2018

NUTRICON 2018 was an international congress held in Ohrid, Macedonia, from the 13th-15th of June, 2018, sharing it’s 5 year anniversary with Consulting and Training Center KEY, who celebrated their 10 year existence. The congress also incorporated HACCP and Advanced Hygienic Engineering and Design training, from the 11th-13th of June, 2018.

More than 200 participants were present at this jubilee edition of NUTRICON, from 35 countries worldwide, with 29 presentations and 50 posters presented, as well as 74 full papers published. Company exhibitors such as: Nestle, Anamet Europe, EuroFIR, Skovin, and ProViotic were also present at the congress, presenting their products and services, obtaining visibility and interacting with the participants. As always, a social program was organized for all the participants to enjoy, detailing Macedonian culture and tradition.

2017

NUTRICON 2017

NUTRICON 2017 was an international congress, held in Skopje, Macedonia, from the 5th-7th of October, 2017. 

After the success and rising popularity of the previous conferences, NUTRICON 2017 became an International Congress. It gathered over 170 participants worldwide, with 18 presentations and 52 posters presented, as well as 61 full papers published in JHED.

The congress had 2 open sessions: the first – Food, Health and Nutrition Science vs. Social Media, and the second – International projects, cooperation and partnerships.

The congress offered a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, allowing people to network and establish connections with people from different fields and cultures.

2016

NUTRICON 2016

NUTRICON 2016 was an international conference, held in Skopje, Macedonia, from the 1st-2nd of December, 2016.

This was the 3rd conference of the same name and it gathered over 160 participants worldwide, with 16 presentations and 22 posters presented at the conference, as well as 20 full papers published in JHED.

The conference was accredited by Dental Chamber of Macedonia and offered relaxed and friendly atmosphere, allowing people to network and establish connections with people from different fields and cultures.

2016

B-FoST Congress

1st Black Sea Association of Food science and Technology – B-FoST, took place in Ohrid, Macedonia, from the 22d-24th of September, 2016.

The congress was focused on the latest progress in fundamental and applied food science, research and development, innovative technology, food ingredients, novel trends in nutrition and health, food and machinery and equipment engineering, food safety and quality and food and feed market.

The congress gathered more than 200 participants from 36 countries worldwide, with 41 presentations, 43 posters and 51 full papers submitted in JHED. The participants also enjoyed several social events concerning Macedonian tradition and hospitality.

2015

NUTRICON 2015

NUTRICON 2015 was an international conference, held in Skopje, Macedonia, from 19th-20th of November, 2015.

Building on the success of the previous conference of the same name, NUTRICON 2015 gathered over 150 participants worldwide, with 16 presentations and 35 posters presented at the conference, as well as 38 full papers published in JHED.

The conference was accredited by Dental Chamber of Macedonia and Doctor’s Chamber of Macedonia. As a part of the conference, a brokerage event was also organized, allowing fluent networking for all the participants, as well as a social program presenting Macedonian culture and tradition.

2015

Hygienic Design Festival

The Hygienic Design Festival was an international conference held in Ohrid, Macedonia, from the 27th-29th of May, 2015. 

The main goal of this conference was to present internationally recognized sources of excellence on hygienic engineering and design in order to help identify solutions for potential hygienic hazards in food production.

There were more than 100 participants present from around the world, from 14 countries, with 21 presentations and 21 posters presented at the conference.

The conference also incorporated a brokerage and a gastronomy event, as well as several social events concerning Macedonian culture and tradition.

2014

NUTRICON 2014

NUTRICON 2014 was an international conference, the first of its kind, held in Skopje, Macedonia, from the 27th-28th of November, 2014. 

The main goal of this conference was to join and reveal the scientific work of medicine doctors, nutritionists and food technologists and engineers.

Hence the theme of the conference: Food Quality and Safety, Health and Nutrition.  There were more than 100 participants worldwide, with 18 presentations and 31 posters presented at the conference, as well as 42 scientific papers, submitted and published in the Journal of Hygienic Engineering and Design – JHED.

The conference was also accredited by the Macedonian Medical Chamber and featured various social events centered to Macedonian culture and tradition.

2014

CEFood Congress

The 7th Central European Congress on Food (CEFood) took place in Ohrid, Macedonia, from the 21st to 24th of May, 2014.

Consulting and Training Center KEY was awarded to host the 7th Central European Congress on Food during the 6th CEFood Congress (23-26 May 2012, Novi Sad, Serbia). The main theme of this event was Food Chain Integration, providing a multidisciplinary forum in all fields of food science and technology, from primary food producers to consumers.

The congress gathered over 300 participants from 38 countries worldwide, with 86 presentations and 143 posters presented, as well as 101 full papers published in JHED. 

The congress also incorporated a Brokerage event and awarded 3 types of awards for best poster (by Consulting and Training Center KEY, Elsevier and Springer).

2013

Conference in Food Quality & Safety and Hygienic Engineering & Design

The Conference in Food Quality & Safety and Hygienic Engineering & Design took place in Skopje, Macedonia, from the 19th-20th of September, 2013.

The main topic of the conference was: Quality and Food Safety, Hygienic Engineering and Design and Food Technology, where 42 scientific papers were submitted, with more than 150 participants present from all around the world.

The conference was also split into 2 plenary sessions: Food Safety and Global Harmonization Initiative. The conference also had an exhibition area where companies could present their products and services. 

The participants of this event were treated to an interesting social program and had the opportunity to be exposed to the city of Skopje, as well as Macedonian cuisine and wines.

2012

Conference in Hygienic Engineering and Design

The Conference of Hygienic Engineering and Design was an international conference, held in Skopje, Macedonia, on the 8-9th of October, 2012. This conference was split into 2 days of activities, with over 140 participants.

The first day, in collaboration with USAID and AgBiz, focused on the manufacturers of fresh fruits and vegetables, as well a number of various organisations concerning machines and equipment for the production on food, while the second day focused on the completed activities by the Macedonian Regional Section of EHEDG during their 3 year existence, presented by the president of the section, Prof. Dr Vladimir Kakurinov.

2011

EHEDG World Congress 2011 – Macedonia

The 1st World Congress on Hygienic Engineering and Design took place from the 21st-25th of September, 2011, in Ohrid, Macedonia.

The Macedonian Regional Section (along with Consulting and Training Center KEY) was awarded to be the host of this congress during a Conference organized by RUSFoST (from 4 – 5 October, 2010 in St. Petersburg, Russia). 

This event was a Summit for Hygienic Design expertise, where over 230 participants from 31 countries worldwide exchanged their experiences, new developments and innovations in this area.

There were 42 presentations in two parallel sessions: 1) Hygienic Design and 2) Food Quality & Safety and Food Production & Processing. 

Sponsor companies of the event: Van Meeuwen, Tensid Chemie Cmbh, Swisslion, Tetra Pak, Danfoss, Kozuvcanka, Scanjet, GEA, Serendipity, SKF, Skovin, and Makprogres, were able to present their latest products and services in the exhibition space. 

The Congress revealed to be an excellent platform for networking and meetings, organizing a special “Brokerage Event” just for that purpose. Beside the work part of the Congress, there was a special social program organised where all of the participants had an opportunity to get familiar with the Macedonian tradition, culture and hospitality.
